The European Week for Waste Reduction (HEAD) it is an initiative born within the LIFE + Program of the European Commission, with the aim of promoting the realization of awareness actions on sustainability and the correct management of waste over the course of a week.
It is an initiative that involves a wide range of audiences (public entities, companies, civil society and citizens). The purposes of SERR are the following:
• promote actions for waste reduction across Europe;

• highlight virtuous examples of waste reduction;
• highlight the connections between waste reduction, sustainable development and fight against climate change.
In 2015, thematic prevention days will focus on dematerialisation: Do more with less, promoting intelligent consumption and a consequent reduction of waste at source.
To focus on this issue, the Municipality of Ragusa, Esper and Svimed organize a day conference 28 November 2015 at Palazzo Cosentini, to illustrate the new waste management plan of the Municipality of Ragusa and present some initiatives developed in the Ibleo territory for the promotion of sustainable heritage management.
